Diversity Youth Quest August 2009-December 2009

The Diversity Youth Quest program this 2009-2010 year have drawn over 100 unduplicated participants averaging 50 participants per month. 50 parents have attended a Diversity Youth Quest session with their child.

Our 15 university mentors have spent over 195 hours with Diversity Youth Quest participants.

Project FINE has secured additional support from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MN Foundation's “Resilient Organizations Fund” to increase the capacity and partnerships of Diversity Youth Quest.

In November, 64 students and 12 parents listened to a presentation on Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco.  Chuck MacLean, a Winona County Attorney used real criminal cases to illustrate the dangers of drugs and the affect they have on everyone involved.

On November 18, we held our second annual Thanksgiving Dinner for participants, as well as their parents and university mentors.  Everyone enjoyed great food and friendship, and premiered the film “There’s No Place Like Home.”  Over 70 youth, 17 mentors and 20 parents attended this event.
